Outcomes in young adults with tetralogy of Fallot and pulmonary annular preserving or transannular patch repairs
Canadian Journal of Cardiology Aug 26, 2020
Ducas RA, Harris L, Labos C, et al. - This retrospective study was performed among adults (born 1981-1996) with childhood intracardiac tetralogy of Fallot (ToF) repairs, to assess the requirement for late reintervention in adults with annulus-preserving [AP] repair and those with transannular patch [TAP] repair. Overall 230 adults, including 104 with AP repair and 126 with TAP repair, were examined. According to the findings, there were significantly fewer late reinterventions in patients who underwent AP ToF repair vs TAP repair, with the majority of reinterventions because of pulmonary valve replacement. More long-term follow-up is needed.
