Martikos K, et al. - Researchers compared the long-term clinical and radiographic outcomes of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures of the thoracolumbar spine treated with conservative treatment and percutaneous vertebroplasty. For osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures, percutaneous vertebroplasty represented a safe treatment. However, this technique could be related to a higher incidence of adjacent fractures and therefore worse thoracolumbar kyphosis and long-term follow-up than conservative treatment.
