Organisation of lymphocytic infiltrates in ANCA-associated glomerulonephritis
Histopathology Mar 06, 2018
Brix SR, et al. - The authors attempted to associate the lymphoid organisation in renal biopsies with renal outcome in anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated glomerulonephritis (GN). Data shed light on the connection between renal lymphocytic organisation with renal outcome in ANCA-associated GN. It was determined that the organisation of the lymphocytic infiltrate could serve as a morphologic correlate of a perpetual and exaggerated inflammation in renal ANCA disease. It was deduced that classifying the lymphocytic infiltrate could aid in speculating the renal outcome. Hence, it could be used for individualised adjustments in the intensity and duration of immunosuppressive therapy.
