Gold KG, et al. - The purpose of the experts was to evaluate the efficacy of orbital radiotherapy (ORT) in the treatment of thyroid eye disease (TED)-compressive optic neuropathy. The use of ORT in eyes with corticosteroid-responsive TED–compressive optic neuropathy, was supported by this study. The natural history of active-phase TED could be favorably altered through ORT by preventing recurrent compressive optic neuropathy following the withdrawal of corticosteroids.
