Occurrence and improvement of renal dysfunction and serum potassium abnormality during administration of liposomal amphotericin B in patients with haematological disorders: A retrospective analysis
Diagnostic Microbiology and Infectious Disease Nov 10, 2017
Yamazaki H, et al. - Researchers here sought to analyze occurrence, improvement, and risk factors of Liposomal amphotericin B (L-AMB) toxicity. They observed renal dysfunction and hypokalemia within two weeks in most patients. These adverse events took months to improve after L-AMB termination. A significant association of concomitant nephrotoxic drugs with these events was observed. Results suggested that low dosage and redundant intravenous infusion did not mitigate these adverse events.
