Wagman P, et al. - The present study was undertaken to analyze occupational balance and its association with self-rated life satisfaction in men and women with RA. Researchers conducted a survey to include demographic and health-related questions, involving a total of 1,277 people who met the following criteria: with RA >4 years, aged 18–80 years, included in the Swedish Rheumatology Quality Register (SRQ), and had at least one registered visit to the participating rheumatology units in the year before inclusion. In the study, the 682 who answered all items in the Occupational Balance Questionnaire (OBQ) were selected. The results suggested that occupational balance was distinguished as related to comfort with life as a whole, which is important information for health professionals. In people with RA, the enhanced occupational balance may be obtained by working towards decreasing their stress and pain.
