Non-surgical treatment for eyelid retraction in thyroid eye disease (TED)
British Journal of Ophthalmology Aug 19, 2017
Grisolia ABD, et al. – An inspection was pursued of the non–surgical treatment for eyelid retraction in thyroid eye disease (TED). Hyaluronic acid, triamcinolone injections and botulinum toxin type A were used as non–surgical treatment alternatives. Emphasis was laid on dosing, technique, efficacy and duration of effect. Non–surgical treatment modalities could be viable in cases where surgical correction was not a choice. Though temporary, these modalities were possibly beneficial for ocular exposure remediation, improving the quality of life and broadening the therapeutic arsenal.
