No survival difference between robotic and open radical hysterectomy for women with early-stage cervical cancer: Results from a nationwide population-based cohort study
European Journal of Cancer Jul 04, 2019
Alfonzo E, et al. - Overall survival and disease-free survival following open vs robotic radical hysterectomy for early-stage cervical cancer were assessed. In this nationwide population-based cohort study of women with cervical cancer stage IA1-IB of squamous, adenocarcinoma or adenosquamous histological subtypes who underwent radical hysterectomy between January 2011 to December 2017, researchers included 864 women (236 open and 628 robotic). Outcomes revealed no significant differences in long-term survival and pattern of recurrence between open and robotic surgery.
