No increase in small-solute transport in peritoneal dialysis patients treated without hypertonic glucose for fifty-four months

Pagniez D, et al. - Experts planned an investigation to gauge the potential protective effect of a reduced exposure to hypertonic glucose. This large series exhibited a link between minimizing the use of hypertonic glucose solutions and an overall decrease of small-solute transport within 54 months in patients on long term peritoneal dialysis (PD), despite a high rate of peritoneal infection.
