Near final height in patients with idiopathic growth hormone deficiency: A single-centre experience
Journal of Paediatrics and Child Health Jun 09, 2018
Kurnaz E, et al. - For this investigation, the idiopathic growth hormone deficiency (GHD) patients were divided into two groups, isolated GHD (IGHD) and multiple pituitary hormone deficiency, to evaluate near final height (NFH) data in children with GHD treated with recombinant human GH (rhGH). The study results showed that about 85% of the cases reached their genetic height potential. In cases that started treatment during the pubertal period, delta height standard deviation scores (SDSs) were higher than expected. In patients who start therapy during puberty, achieving NFH within the mid-parental height range was possible.
