Natural history of disease activity and damage in patients with cutaneous lupus erythematosus
Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology Jul 05, 2018
Ker KJ, et al. - Authors ascertained and compared disease course of cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE) patients using Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus Disease Area and Severity Index (CLASI). CLE disease activity improvement was predicted by baseline CLASI-A >9, minority race, and shorter disease duration. They noted an association of baseline CLASI-D ≥10 with disease damage improvement. Significant improvement was noted in CLASI-A scores in patients with baseline CLASI-A >9, baseline CLASI damage ≥10, minority races, and CLE disease duration ≤1 year; as seen in linear regression analyses.
