Zheng GY, et al. - Researchers assessed the short-term oncological prognosis of adrenocortical carcinoma by comparing clinical data between open adrenalectomy and laparoscopic adrenalectomy. They noted superiority of the open adrenalectomy for adrenocortical carcinoma to laparoscopic approach in disease-free survival and rate of 2-year disease-free survival. At the first time of relapse, patients following laparoscopic adrenalectomy were more likely to have a local recurrence.
