miRNA mechanisms underlying the association of beta blocker use and bone mineral density
Journal of Bone and Mineral Research Sep 25, 2020
Nevola KT, Kiel DP, Zullo AR, et al. - This study was sought to present the miRNA mechanisms underlying the correlation of beta-blocker use and bone mineral density. Researchers conducted a cross‐sectional analysis using clinical data, dual‐energy x‐ray absorptiometry scans, and miRNA and mRNA profiling of whole blood from the Framingham Study's Offspring Cohort to evaluate potential miRNA mechanisms, Researchers applied enrichment analysis of miRNA targets to find potential indirect impacts through insulin and parathyroid hormone signaling. This observation serves a starting point for delineating the role of miRNA on the relationship between beta-blocker use and bone mineral density.
