Mid-term follow-up results of calcaneal reconstruction for calcaneal malunion
BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders Feb 03, 2019
Lee HS, et al. - A sum of 10 male subjects between January 2009 and July 2014, were analyzed for a mean follow-up period of 67.1 months to describe the mid-term follow-up outcomes of calcaneal reconstruction for calcaneal malunion. Investigators noted a significant difference in talocalcaneal height, talocalcaneal angle, calcaneal pitch, calcaneal width, and Bohler angle before and after reconstruction. An improvement was noted in mean American Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Society Ankle and Hindfoot scores from 66.50 ± 9.37 pre-reconstruction to 80.30 ± 8.52 at the last follow-up. They also recorded improvement in mean visual analog scale score from 8.60 ± 1.43 before reconstruction to 3.40 ± 0.84 at the last follow-up with the satisfaction of most candidates.
