Meta-analysis comparing autologous blood-derived products (including platelet-rich plasma) injection vs placebo in patients with achilles tendinopathy
Arthroscopy Apr 27, 2018
Lin MT, et al. - Authors compared the efficacy of autologous blood-derived products (ABP) injection with that of placebo (sham injection, no injection, or physiotherapy alone) in patients with Achilles tendinopathy. They searched the electronic databases, including PubMed, Scopus, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library up to June 2017. In Achilles tendinopathy, results did not demonstrate more effectiveness of ABP injection than placebo (sham injection, no injection, or physiotherapy alone). No relationship was seen between therapeutic impacts and duration of symptoms.
