Saito M, et al. – The experts intended to examine the prognostic value of both left ventricular (LV) and right ventricular (RV) deformation in patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc). Their investigations suggested that RV dysfunction was associated with adverse outcome, independent of and incremental to clinical and LV deformation parameters in SSc. Whereas, LV dysfunction appeared to have less prognostic relevance than RV dysfunction.
