BMC Endocrine Disorders Jun 12, 2019
Peng X, et al. - A meta-analysis of 11 studies with 1,052 cases only from Asia was performed for differentiating Graves’ disease (GD) from destructive thyroiditis (DT) patients by the contributors to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy by the measurement of mean peak systolic velocity of superior thyroid artery (STA-PSV) using ultrasonography. Thyroid function assessment by measurement of TSH, total T3, free T4 and color-flow doppler ultrasonography of the thyroid gland was performed in all patients. In differentiating GD from DT, STA-PSV by ultrasonography was found out to be a useful diagnostic method.
