Maternal sedentary behavior during pre-pregnancy and early pregnancy and mean offspring birth size: A cohort study
BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth Jul 02, 2018
Badon SE, et al. - Whether or not sedentary behavior during pregnancy is associated with newborn outcomes, such as birth size, was investigated. In addition, the role of infant sex in sedentary behavior-birth size associations has been examined. Researchers used data from the Omega study, a prospective pregnancy cohort, for this analysis. Maternal sedentary behavior during pre- or early pregnancy was not identified to have any association with mean offspring birth size. They observed adverse effects on maternal health in relation to pre-pregnancy and early pregnancy sedentary behavior, but the results did not support their associations with mean offspring birth size.
