Sobhy S, et al. - The researchers carried out a systematic review and meta-analysis to identify the burden of maternal and perinatal mortality and morbidity, and the risk factors in low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs) following caesarean sections. One hundred ninety-six studies were included from 67 LMICs. According to findings, maternal deaths and perinatal deaths are disproportionately high in LMICs following caesarean sections. Caesarean section timing and urgency pose major risks.
