Hama Y, et al. – The aim of this cross–sectional survey was to examine the feasibility of evaluating masticatory performance using colour–changeable chewing gum as well as to study masticatory performance–related factors in preschool children. Using colour–changeable chewing gum, the masticatory performance of preschool children was easily evaluated. The assessment values showed significant association with the number of healthy teeth, but not with maximum bite force, body height, weight, or age.
