Manipulation and mobilization for treating chronic low back pain: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Coulter ID, et al. - Various mobilization and manipulation therapies for the treatment of chronic low back pain were assessed herein, in terms of effectiveness and safety. The likely efficacy of these therapies in reducing pain and improving function in patients with chronic low back pain was demonstrated by moderate-quality evidence; manipulation appeared to produce a larger impact than mobilization. In addition, both therapies appear safe and multimodal programs may be a promising option.
