Longitudinal evaluation of periodontitis and development of cognitive decline among older adults

Nilsson H, et al. - Researchers ascertained if having periodontitis was correlated with cognitive decline among older adults. Findings suggested importance of history of periodontitis for cognitive functions among older adults. After adjustments of confounding factors of importance, a statistically significant correlation between prevalence of periodontitis and cognitive decline was seen in this multivariate logistic regression analysis.
