Longitudinal changes in thicknesses of the macula, ganglion cell–inner plexiform layer, and retinal nerve fiber layer after vitrectomy: A 12-month observational study
Retina Jan 25, 2018
Lim HB, et al. - The objective of this work was to analyze the longitudinal changes after vitrectomy in the thicknesses of the macula, ganglion cell-inner plexiform layer (GC-IPL), and peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL). One month following vitrectomy, transient increases were found in the thickness of the macula and GC-IPL. A rise was noted in the postoperative RNFL thickness until 3 months after surgery, after which it returned to preoperative levels. The intraocular pressure and optic nerve head parameters did not exhibit any significant change before and after surgery.
