Longitudinal bleb morphology in anterior segment OCT after minimally invasive transscleral ab interno Glaucoma Gel Microstent implantation
Acta Ophthalmologica Sep 03, 2018
Lenzhofer M, et al. - Authors gauged the internal bleb morphology over time with anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) after XEN Glaucoma Gel Microstent (XEN-GGM) implantation. Seemingly, bleb appearance after XEN surgery was different to classic trabeculectomy literature. IOP was seen to be correlated to surgical long-term success with bleb morphology in AS-OCT. They noted a direct association of the prevalence of small diffuse cysts with lower IOPs, while cystic encapsulation at 3 months predicts higher surgical failure.
