Long-term safety of bilateral targeted lung denervation in patients with COPD
International Journal of COPD Jul 24, 2018
Valipour A, et al. - Whether bilateral targeted lung denervation (TLD) during a single procedure is feasible and safe in COPD patients, was investigated in this prospective, multicenter analysis of 15 patients with moderate-to-severe COPD (forced expiratory volume in 1 s [FEV1] 30%–60%) who had bilateral TLD after baseline assessment without bronchodilators. Subjects agreed to longer-term follow-up were monitored for 3 years. Based on the findings, TLD delivered to both lungs in a single procedure was proved to be feasible and safe with few respiratory-related adverse events through 3 years.
