Zhao Y, et al. - This study entailed detection of independent risk factors of pneumothorax, other than emphysema, after computed tomography (CT)-guided needle biopsy and establishment of a risk prediction model. Pneumothorax was recognized as a common complication of CT-guided lung biopsy. Emphysema, no contact between the lesion and the pleura, and prone or lateral body position were reported as the independent risk factors for pneumothorax. Importantly, with high accuracy, the predictive model developed in this study served well in the prediction of the incidence of pneumothorax.
