Locally advanced cervical cancer: Outcomes with variable adherence to treatment

American Journal of Clinical Oncology Apr 29, 2018

Manders DB, et al. - Experts aimed to correlate the adherence to treatment plan with survival and toxicities of patients treated for locally advanced cervical cancer. They performed a retrospective review of patients treated for advanced cervical cancer at their institution between 2003 and 2011. Findings suggested a significant association of adherence to both optimal treatment time and radiation dose with improved survival. Among patients with locally advanced cervical cancer, total radiation dose was an independent predictor of survival.
