Lipid profile, plasma apolipoproteins, and pre-eclampsia risk in the GenPE case-control study
Atherosclerosis Jun 15, 2018
Serrano NC, et al. - Researchers assessed the association of maternal blood lipid and apolipoprotein levels with pre-eclampsia in a large-scale study ((1366 cases of pre-eclampsia and 1741 normotensive controls), using adjusted logistic regression models. They performed sub-group analyses for early (<34 weeks) and late (≥37 weeks) pre-eclampsia and used adjusted multinomial regression models to estimate the impact of 1 standard deviation increase in log-transformed lipid fraction levels. They found an increased risk of pre-eclampsia related to higher levels of triglycerides, apolipoprotein E and the apolipoprotein B and A1 (ApoB/ApoA1) ratio.
