Limited evidence suggests that a history of suboptimal breastfeeding may increase the risk of developing anterior open bite, posterior crossbite, and class II canine relationship

Flores-Mir C - Herein, an exploration was conducted of the specific malocclusion traits that could be related to breastfeeding practices. Findings demonstrated that children who breastfed more adequately did not present with the same risk for developing malocclusion traits as those who did not. In case of young children with a history of suboptimal breastfeeding, an increased risk of developing anterior open bite, posterior crossbite, and class II canine relationship was discovered.
