European Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery & Traumatology Apr 18, 2018
Li Y, et al. - Experts evaluated the isokinetic knee extensor strength, leg extensor power and stair performance of elderly participants at 5 years unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) post-operation. They also compared the differences in knee extensor strength and leg extensor power between the UKA and contralateral healthy limbs. Results suggested that in regard to the recovery of knee strength, leg power and ability to climb up and down stairs, UKA was a satisfactory treatment. Comparable knee strength and leg power were exhibited with UKA limbs relative to the contralateral limbs.
