Knee osteoarthritis after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with bone–patellar tendon–bone vs hamstring tendon autograft: A systematic review of randomized controlled trials
Arthroscopy | Jan 25, 2018
Belk JW, et al. - Postoperative radiographic incidence of knee osteoarthritis (OA) was compared following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) with bone–patellar tendon–bone (BPTB) vs hamstring tendon (HT) autograft, in a systematic analysis of data from relevant high-quality studies in the literature. Also, other symptoms of postoperative knee OA were compared among these 2 groups through patient-reported outcome scores and knee range of motion. Researchers concluded that at long-term follow-up in patients undergoing ACLR with BPTB autograft or HT autograft, a similar incidence of postoperative knee OA can be expected.
