JC polyoma viruria associates with protection from chronic kidney disease independently from apolipoprotein L1 genotype in African Americans

Freedman BI, et al. - This investigation was carried out to assess the association between urine JC polyomavirus (JCPyV) with chronic kidney disease (CKD) in African Americans independent from the APOL1 genotype. Findings demonstrated inverse relationships between JCPyV viruria and non-diabetic CKD.
