Aksoy B, et al. - As a part of this trial, the most effective dose and duration of oral isotretinoin monotherapy were evaluated by the researchers for achieving remission in folliculitis decalvans (FD) patients. In maximum patients, complete response was obtained due to oral isotretinoin monotherapy. Hence, oral isotretinoin ≥0.4 mg/kg/day was recommended for ≥3 months to minimize the tendency of relapse. Oral isotretinoin monotherapy was possibly regarded as a promising therapeutic alternative for FD, for which additional trials were warranted.
