Is thromboprophylaxis cost effective in ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome: A systematic review and cost analysis
European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology Mar 24, 2018
Wormer KC, et al. - This study was planned to present a thorough review and cost analysis regarding the use of VTE prophylaxis in women with ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) to inform clinical management. Researchers observed increasing incidence of infertility and requirement for assisted reproductive technologies (ART), suggesting that thromboembolism in OHSS poses a major health threat for patients. For these patients, VTE prophylaxis using enoxaparin was cost effective over a wide range of costs and incidences. Prophylaxis was also observed to be cost effective through the completion of the first trimester of pregnancy.
