Is parental oral health literacy a predictor of children's oral health outcomes? Systematic review of the literature

Firmino RT, et al. - Researchers assessed the scientific evidence concerning the relationship between parental oral health literacy (OHL) and children's oral health outcomes. Findings suggested a correlation between low parental OHL and dental caries among their children. In order to assume an association between OHL and the remaining outcomes, it was too early. Children's tooth brushing frequency, use of toothpaste, oral health claim, oral health expenditures and parental OHL were not associated.
