Intravoxel incoherent motion MRI of rectal cancer: Correlation of diffusion and perfusion characteristics with prognostic tumor markers
American Journal of Roentgenology Feb 22, 2018
Sun H, et al. - An inquiry was carried out of the intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM)–DWI derived parameters and their correlations with tumor prognostic markers through 3-T MRI in patients with rectal cancer. A connection was disclosed between IVIM-DWI–derived parameters with tumor grade and tumor stage in patients with rectal cancer, particularly the pseudodiffusion coefficient. Statistically marked variations were noted between subjects with extramural vascular invasion (EMVI) and those without EMVI. Researchers found that IVIM-DWI–derived parameters would be beneficial for speculating the tumor aggressiveness and prognosis.
