Interventions for displaced radial head fractures: Network meta-analysis of randomized trials
Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Jan 11, 2019
Vannabouathong C, et al. - In a network meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs), researchers examined to compare the treatments for displaced radial head fractures (RHFs). They assessed data from RCTs related to radial head arthroplasty (RHA), open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) with metal implants (ORIF-M), and ORIF with biodegradable implants (ORIF-B). They observed that cases treated with RHA had greater chances to reach an “excellent” or “good” score when compared with ORIF-M and ORIF-B. They noted a lower incidence of postoperative complications in RHA candidates over 2 years in the treatment of displaced RHFs.
