International multicenter validation study of the SAGIT instrument in acromegaly
Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism Jul 31, 2021
Giustina A, Bronstein MD, Chanson P, et al. - Researchers conducted this multicenter, non-interventional, prospective and retrospective, longitudinal study to assess the ability of SAGIT to discriminate between acromegaly disease control status. Academic and private clinical practice sites; patients aged ≥ 18 years with a diagnosis of controlled (n = 109) or non-controlled (n = 105) acromegaly, evaluated by clinical global evaluation of disease control (CGE-DC) questionnaire, investigator therapeutic decision and international guidelines. The risk of undergoing at least one treatment change during the study was 3.44 times higher in patients with CGE-DC non-controlled acromegaly compared with CGE-DC controlled acromegaly. The SAGIT instrument is a reliable and sensitive tool for assessing the severity of acromegaly.
