Interleukin-10 as a predictor of major adverse cardiovascular events in a racially and ethnically diverse population: Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis
Annals of Epidemiology Sep 11, 2018
Goldwater D, et al. - This multi-ethnic study of atherosclerosis evaluated whether baseline levels of the anti-inflammatory cytokine interleukin-10 (IL-10) were related to either subclinical atherosclerosis or risk for adverse cardiovascular events. A total of 930 adults aged 48-80 years at enrollment were included in the study and followed for an average of 10.2 years. Findings indicated that baseline IL-10 level do not appear to be related to the risk of cardiovascular events and is a poor marker of subclinical coronary atherosclerosis in individuals without clinical heart disease.
