Intensive multidisciplinary weight management in patients with type 1 diabetes and obesity: A 1-year retrospective matched cohort study

Mottalib A, et al. - In patients with type 1 diabetes (T1D) and obesity, researchers examined the impacts of intensive multidisciplinary weight management (IMWM) via retrospectively assess 68 patients with T1D and obesity who recruited in a 12-week IMWM program. The findings demonstrated that patients with T1D and obesity who took an interest in an IMWM program had significant weight loss and a significant reduction in daily insulin dose at one year in comparison to standard care. Data reported that weight reduction was correlated with improvements in glycemic control vs baseline.
