Intense pulsed light vs cryotherapy in the treatment of hypertrophic scars: A clinical and histopathological study
Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology Feb 07, 2021
Salem S, et al. - This study was undertaken to investigate the effectiveness of intense pulsed light (IPL) as monotherapy for hypertrophic scar treatment as compared to cryotherapy both clinically and histopathologically. Twenty-eight patients with hypertrophic scars were included in the study. Individuals were classified randomly and equally into two groups; group I patients received cryotherapy while group II patients received IPL. In comparison with IPL, cryotherapy is more effective in the treatment of hypertrophic scars both on clinical and histopathological level yet with more complications.
