Inotropic myocardial reserve deficiency is the predominant feature of exercise haemodynamics in cardiac amyloidosis
European Journal of Heart Failure Sep 09, 2017
Clemmensen TS, et al. Â The researchers performed this work to characterize invasive haemodynamics during exercise in subjects with cardiac amyloidosis (CA). They reported that cardiac amyloid deposits were associated with severely reduced inotropic myocardial reserve and increased left and right ventricular filling pressures during exercise. Moreover, CA subjects had severely reduced pulmonary arterial compliance (PAC), which might contribute to right heart failure and reduced exercise capacity.
