Influence of gestational diabetes on the fetal autonomic nervous system: A study using phase-rectified signal averaging analysis
Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology Aug 11, 2017
Lobmaier SM, et al. – Here, researchers assess the impact of gestational diabetes on the fetal autonomic nervous system (ANS) in human pregnancy utilizing phase–rectified signal averaging (PRSA). This information exhibits increased ANS activity in late gestation fetuses of diabetic mothers. Investigation of human fetal cardiovascular and autonomic nervous system function by PRSA may offer improved surveillance over conventional techniques linking gestational diabetes pregnancy with future cardiovascular dysfunction in the offspring.
