Influence of distal radius fractures involving the intermediate column on forearm rotation
Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research Apr 30, 2019
Yan B, et al. - In this study, investigators delineated the radiologic and clinical consequence of subjects with distal radius fractures comprising the intermediate column and distal radial metaphyseal fractures treated conservatively. In the range of motion (ROM) for pronation and supination, significant differences were observed in the paired groups. They also recorded a significant difference in Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand score in the paired groups. They reported a negative relationship between articular step-off and ROM for pronation using Pearson correlation analysis. After distal radius fractures treated conservatively they reported an adverse influence of distal radius fractures involving the intermediate column on forearm rotation.
