Increased risk of open-angle glaucoma among patients with diabetes mellitus: A 10-year follow-up nationwide cohort study

Rim TH, et al. - Among patients with diabetes, experts assessed the risk of open-angle glaucoma. Findings suggested a greater likeliness of the patients diagnosed with diabetes to develop open-angle glaucoma vs patients without diabetes. In diabetes group, the incidence of open-angle glaucoma was 20.0/10 000 person-years and in nondiabetes group it was 17.0/10 000 person-years. As per data, 1.19 (95% confidence interval [CI], 1.09–1.30) was the age- and sex-adjusted hazard ratio (HR).
