Wolk K, et al. - This study entailed the determination and characterization of pathogenetic parameters in palmoplantar pustular psoriasis (PPP), a recalcitrant chronic skin disease affecting the palms and soles. Herein, increased blood levels of lipocalin 2 (LCN2) pointed towards a significant activity of IL-1β in the epidermis, which possibly contributed to the skin neutrophil infiltration. Additionally, these could indicate an increased pro- atherosclerosis risk.
