Pazderska A, et al. - The association between waist circumference (WC) and indices of glucose and lipid metabolism was examined in women with and without polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Some cardiometabolic abnormalities in PCOS were associated with central obesity and the following adjustment for WC did not differ from normal subjects. As per the outcomes, WC measurement had potential to take precedence over PCOS status as part of the assessment of cardiometabolic risk in reproductive-age women.
