In dialysis dependent renal failure patients plasma bnp is associated with mean pulmonary artery pressure but not left ventricular filling pressure
Journal of Cardiac Failure Aug 19, 2017
Alhazmi L, et al. – In this study, it was presumed that in dialysis dependent renal failure patients, plasma levels of BNP would correlate with LV filling and pulmonary artery pressures. An association was observed between plasma BNP level and pulmonary artery pressure, however, it was not observed for LV filling pressure, in dialysis dependent renal failure patients. This outcome suggested that BNP was not the reliable indicator of intravascular volume status in this specific population.
