Impact of type 2 diabetes mellitus on in-hospital-mortality after major cardiovascular events in Spain (2002â2014)
Cardiovascular Diabetology Oct 17, 2017
de Miguel-Yanes JM, et al. - This study compared type 2 diabetes (T2DM) and matched non-diabetes patients hospitalized for major cardiovascular events, in terms of trends in number of cases and outcomes, in-hospital mortality (IHM) and length of hospital stay (LHS). Findings reported an overtime rise in the number of hospital admissions for stroke, aortic aneurysm and dissection and acute lower limb ischemia, except for myocardial infarction, for which the number of hospital admissions remained stable. Notably, T2DM was found to be related to higher IHM after major cardiovascular events.
