Impact of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease on patients with aortic aneurysms: A nationwide retrospective cohort study in Taiwan

Liao KM, et al. – The physicians undertook this study to explore the impact of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) on patients with aortic aneurysm (AA). Collected data displayed that the outcomes of COPD patients with AA undergoing an operation were improved. However, the mortality rate of non–COPD patients with AA remained high. Therefore, further research work was needed to develop an effective treatment to reduce mortality in this group.
